Small crab apple tree, Longwater Lawn, New Forest
This small twisted crab apple tree is fruiting, with small red/green apples. It does not have solely green fruit so it is not strictly a pure crab apple, it is likely to have cross-pollinated with a domestic variety. The wet conditions are probably not the best for this tree to thrive - the alders in the background do better on this damp lawn alongside the Beaulieu River.
