Pits for silt from lake drainage, Cockington
Over the last 40 years a thick layer of silt has built up in the lakes in Cockington Country Park. The lakes have been drained and the silt will be mixed with water and pumped up to these hollows in the valley above the lakes - which will leave cleaner lakes and a more fertile valley. This is "Cockington Green Heart Project."
