Dr Brighton's, Kings Road, Brighton
Located on the corner of Little East Street the pub dates from the 1780s when it opened as the Star & Garter Hotel. During the 19th century it ran an advertising campaign where Dr Brighton recommended visiting for refreshment and the name stuck being initially applied to the hotel's bar and later to the whole building itself. The buildings looking out onto Little East Street include part of the Jurys Inn Waterfront Hotel on the left and council offices straight ahead. Both were built in the late 1980s as part of the same development.
