Apuldram - St Mary's Church :: SU8403
The church of St Mary in Apuldram dates originally from the C12th but was almost completely rebuilt in the C13th. It was rather heavily restored twice in the Victorian period, first by Butler (1845) and then by L W Ridge (1877). The porch dates from the C15th while a vestry and heating chamber were added in the C19th.
The most important features of the church are the triple lancet window in the chancel and the encaustic tiles on the lower altar step beneath it.
