The Southern Reeed on Marsworth Reservoir
The Southern Reeed on Marsworth Reservoir
Over the years the reed neds have been slowly extending north, and as part of the management policy for this important SSSI channels are cut into the bed at intervals.
When I first visited the reservoir in the 1960 there was a row of tall elms on the far side of the reservoir which were used by herons as a safe place to nest.
