St George's Church, Chesterfield Road
Built in 1938 by Thomas Lyon, in a style described by Nicholas Taylor as "striking compared with most semi-traditional churches of the period." Dr Rowan Williams, later Archbishop of Wales and Canterbury and Master of Magdalene, was an honorary curate here from 1980-83 - his only direct experience of parish ministry.
