This drive - and public footpath - serves "The Grange", a large Grade II-listed house that was previously the vicarage for Ault Hucknall Church. It may be reasonable to suppose therefore, that these fields and the plantation ahead were (or remain) glebe property? The Parish Church is 3-4 minutes behind the photographer, off the south side of Hodmire Road. Hardwick Hall, a National Trust property, is only 5 mins away - as the crow flies - to the south (left-hand side) of this drive.
