The big cairn above Raven Scar
This superbly built giant is a familiar landmark to anyone wandering along the limestone plateau below the northern slopes of Ingleborough. The reason for its construction is lost to us but it may have been a marker for shepherds in poor weather - landmarks are noticeably absent up here.
