Cottenham: two fenland windbreaks
Cottenham: two fenland windbreaks
They are planted south-east to north-west to defend The Redlands against prevailing south-westerly winds. Cottenham stands on a ridge a little above the general flatness of the Cambridgeshire Fens beyond and below the trees on the skyline, which are just above the 10m contour line.
