Little Mill Junction
Little Mill Junction
The East Coast Main Line is signalled for bi-directional working (i.e. trains can run in both directions on both tracks). This is one of the locations where trains can be switched across from one track to the other. It was originally the site of the connection (on the left) to the goods yard of Little Mill Station and (on the right) to the quarry and limekilns.
East Coast Main Line

The East Coast Main Line is a 393 mile long high speed electrified railway between London and Edinburgh, via Peterborough, Doncaster, York and Newcastle. It was constructed between 1846 & 1871 by several different rail companies.
