As part of the Hull City of Culture 2017 a 75m wind turbine blade has been 'loaned' from the brand new Hull Siemens wind turbine factory. The blade has been lifted into Queen Victoria Square between the royal lady's statue and Hull City Hall. The journey from the Siemens factory two miles away took four hours to accomplish with various street/traffic lights having to be moved to get it there! The journey started at 02:30 in the early morning to cause minimal traffic disruption.

The presence of the blade in the centre of Hull has attracted a lot of attention in the last day or so, is truly a precision work of art and is amazing to see and touch at very close quarters!

Would Queen Victoria "be amused" if she could see it now next to her statue in Hull!?
