Valley of the River Spean
Valley of the River Spean
Looking from the B8004 down into the deep valley of the River Spean near Gairlochy. The line of trees running across the foreground marks the course of the Invergarry and Fort Augustus Railway, a line that opened as late as 1903 and closed only 43 years later. The scar on the top of the hill across the river is the disused Brackletter sandpit.
