TA0930 : Wilmington Swing Bridge, Hull

taken 7 years ago, near to Kingston Upon Hull, England

Wilmington Swing Bridge, Hull
Wilmington Swing Bridge, Hull
Built for the North Eastern Railway in 1907 to replace an earlier bridge built in 1853 on the line to Victoria Dock and also Hornsea and Withernsea. The railway closed in 1968 and the bridge is now used by pedestrians and cyclists only. Apparently it remains operable.

It's a listed structure, see; LinkExternal link
