Opposite view to SZ5992 : Ryde Esplanade Station as the railway heads onto the half mile long pier towards the pierhead and the ferry. The pier can be walked though many prefer to jump on the train for the 90 second ride. Beyond the pierhead is The Solent and the shoreline at Portsmouth.
