Ebenezer's Bike, Stourhead
This comic looking contraption remembers what is actually a sad story.
Ebenezer Stone worked in the stables at Stourhead and made a bicycle so he could visit his family.
He lost both legs in WW1, and presumably his job.
At least he survived, which is more than the only heir to the Stourhead estate did. He was killed in 1917.
One of a number of sculptures made from bits and pieces which can be found on the estate. LinkExternal link
