Mouth of the Cassington Canal, River Thames
The Cassington Canal joins the River Thames a few hundred yards upstream of the Evenlode outfall. It was a straight waterway, not much more than half a mile in length, that was dug in an attempt to avoid the treacherous shallows in the lowest part of the Evenlode.
