The blast wall protects one of the entrances. The main entrance is blocked by a heavy steel grille and one could be inclined to wonder what treasures or secret the overgrown and dilapidated structure might hide. A notice affixed to the grille advises that bats reside here. It is a criminal offence to disturb bats but it would seem to be quite alright to let historic buildings fall to pieces, what a strange world we are living in. For an interior view see > Link.

The building is situated on the former Administrative/HQ site of RAF Snetterton Heath when it was an active airfield during WW2.

The airfield was constructed in 1942 and completed in 1943. It was assigned to the United States Army Air Forces Eighth Army Air Force and used by the 96th Bombardment Group (Heavy). In 1952, the flying field was privately purchased and developed into a motor racing circuit which still thrives today. The race course follows sections of the old runways and perimeter track. A number of buildings have survived on neighbouring industrial estates which now occupy the former Technical site. See also: Link
