Looking north along Shackerstone Station platform at the northern end of the current Battlefield Line preserved railway.

The original Ashby and Nuneaton Joint Railway was closed to passengers in 1931 and freight in 1964. The Shackerstone Railway Society has been restoring and operating on the line between Shackerstone and Shenton via Market Bosworth since 1969. LinkExternal link.
