Built in 1835 by John Foster as a worsted and mohair mill - spinning and weaving. The building and chimney dominates the town.
John Foster was a French Horn player. With others he formed an ensemble, which eventually became the world famous Black Dyke Brass Band.
The mill is now used for industrial units.
