SO4871 : The Hope, Haye Park

taken 12 years ago, near to Batchcott, Shropshire, Great Britain

The Hope, Haye Park.
The Hope, Haye Park.
Haye park was a deer park; it's usually referred to as "the deer park", formerly scattered oakwoods planted with conifers in the 1950s. The valley here, known as the Hope, takes up a lot of the square. This is an out of square shot taken from a vantage point on the lip of the Hope at 486709. The word "Hope" crops up in the borderlands of Scotland too. Same meaning. This is a text book example of a "hope". The deer are still there.
