SX8358 : The River Dart

taken 17 years ago, near to Ashprington, Devon, England

The River Dart
The River Dart
Downstream of Totnes the River Dart goes into some impressive meanders. This section, north of Sharpham Point, is called The Gut. The river is tidal here and the hill on the right is 109 metres above sea level. The Dart valley is very picturesque because of the steep contours surrounding the flood plain. See SX8258 : The Dart from Sharpham drive.

The little boat is a rubber dinghy with a sail.
