Looking east along the nave. The whole of this area was originally only the nave of a bigger church, destroyed in the Reformation.
Bridlington Priory

The Augustinian Priory was founded in 1113 on the site of a Saxon nunnery and grew into a large abbey following the canonisation of St.John of Bridlington in 1401 as pilgrims flocked to his shrine. At its Dissolution in 1538 the church was over 390 feet in length, of which only the nave remains as the parish church of St.Mary
