St Clement's Church, Sandwich
St Clement's Church, Sandwich
St Clement's is the only one of the three main churches in Sandwich where the central tower still stands. The tower is mid Norman but the four tower arches are all that remains of the cruciform church it crowned. The chancel is Early English with chapels and the nave was rebuilt in the 15th century and the aisles widened considerably. The north porch seen here is two-storeyed. All the windows were replaced during the restoration of the 1860s.
