Horse chestnut in flower, Oaklands Park
A fine horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) in Oaklands Park, part of the Pestalozzi International Village estate. This tree species is now often infected with leaf miners, fungi on the leaves and bleeding canker of the bark. Although it is an introduced species it is much loved and it would be a pity if it cannot withstand the pathogens attacking it.
