Mount Grace Priory
Mount Grace Priory
The last Prior of Mount Grace, John Wilson, after initial resistance surrendered to Henry VIII on 18 December 1539. Unlike other Priors, who were tried and executed for treason, Wilson, for his capitulation, was granted a hermitage to live in and a generous pension.
