An Arriva train from Manchester stands at Milford Haven
The terminus station at Milford has always been a single platform since opening in 1863 but the station building was demolished some years ago and has been replaced by a 'bus shelter' and a Portakabin type booking office. Such is progress! In its heyday, the station master here held a 'special-class' grading particularly because of the importance of goods traffic to and from the dockside sidings, now all gone.
Peter Whatley's photo from1979 shows the station building still extant and with the goods yard still partly in use:

The goods yard, inevitably, has now been replaced by a retail park.
The current service pattern is mainly a two hourly service to and from Manchester Piccadilly operated by Arriva Trains Wales, the journey to Manchester taking just over 6 hours.
