SN4119 : Carmarthen railway station

taken 7 years ago, near to Carmarthen/Caerfyrddin, Carmarthenshire/Sir Gaerfyrddin, Wales

Carmarthen railway station
Carmarthen railway station
A view taken from the foot crossing to platform 2, looking southwards. The station remains busy despite the loss of the lines northwards into Mid-Wales in the 1960s. It still has long-distance trains but mostly to Manchester, rather than to London as in days of yore. GWR does run one through return service from Paddington, but, at the time of writing, only on Sundays.
