Cow parsley (Anthriscus sylvestris) - flowers and seeds
Cow parsley is a member of the Carrot family and can commonly be seen growing on the edges of woods, on roadside verges and beside hedgerows. It flowers from May until June. It has large, flat umbrellas of small white flowers and fern-like leaves, which when crushed produce a strong, almost aniseed-like scent. It is also known as Queen Anne's Lace and Wild chervil.
