NS2886 : The bed of a burn

taken 7 years ago, near to Auchenvennel, Argyll And Bute, Scotland

The bed of a burn
The bed of a burn
The burn begins near here, and it feeds into the one that is shown nearby on the 1:25000 map. It is shown here after some prolonged dry weather. The stones in the bed of the burn are mainly a kind of slate with a shiny surface, pebbles of the material that is shown (not very far from here) in NS2786 : Outcrop of slate.

As the map shows, various burns that arise nearby on this slope merge before passing Duirland and flowing into the Fruin Water.
