Hook Norton Brewery - Buxton & Thornley Steam Engine
Hook Norton Brewery - Buxton & Thornley Steam Engine
This Buxton & Thornley Steam Engine was the last fixed steam engine to be used commercially anywhere in Britain (Wikipedia seems to think that it is still used, unfortunately this has not been the case for about 40 years). It is still in perfect working order and is fired up on the first Saturday of every month. It was installed in 1899 in the then newly built tower of the brewery.
