This photo shows the pre-fabricated bow section returned to the horizontal position, having been flipped upside-down and rotated 180 degrees. In a few minutes it will be lifted into place on the hull which is to the right.

Hull 801 is the yard number of a ship under construction that will become one of two as yet unnamed hybrid powered car ferries for Caledonian MacBrayne (the other is Hull 802). The 102 metre long ferries will be capable of running on LNG (liquefied natural gas) or marine oil.

This series of ten photos shows a large pre-fabricated section of the bow being lifted and (slowly) flipped vertically and horizontally in preparation for the final lift into position on the hull. Two mobile cranes did the bulk of the work, with some assistance from men on the ground with ropes.

As can be seen in the photos, the yard is undergoing major reconstruction while shipbuilding continues. This resulted in there being very restricted space for manoeuvring the pre-fabricated section, which appeared to go to plan nonetheless.
