Portland stone portals
These Ionic columns in Portland stone stand in Prince Albert Gardens.

The gardens were developed in 1996, on the site of the old mini golf course.

The two large columns, dating from the early 19th century, are replicas of the 2,400 year old Athena Polias. They were salvaged from the old Grosvenor Hotel (demolished in 1988). Like many other monuments in Swanage, they were originally from London.
