Jamaica Street
Jamaica Street
Street art in Jamaica Street, the work of the People's Republic of Stokes Croft. The PRSC was founded in 2007 as a community group aiming to preserve the unique character of what was a run down area just north of the commercial centre of Bristol, promoting street art and other cultural media, as well as direct and other political action.

The shop in the centre of the photo houses Stokes Croft China, which sells crockery decorated by local artists and partly funds the PRSC.

Beyond is 37-39 Jamaica Street, a former carriage works, with the lower two floors built in 1905 and the upper two floors added in 1909. Grade II listed - see LinkExternal link.
