'Steam' museum, Kemble Drive, Swindon
The museum celebrates the years between 1843 and 1986 when Swindon was home to the Great Western Railway manufacturing centre where locomotives, carriages and wagons were built and repaired. It is housed in what used to be 'R' shop. A feature of the museum is the use of tableaux to illustrate a facet of life in the works. This image shows a worker working to repair a locomotive boiler.
