Looking across the Vale, near Harby
Humped-back bridge over the track of the dismantled former Great Northern and London & North Western Railway Joint Line (GN&LNWRJt line) which linked Market Harborough to Bottesford and Saxondale via Melton Mowbray, with Lodge Farm beyond; both in the featured square.
The immediate foreground and viewpoint are in SK7629 nearing the bottom of the hill bounding the south eastern edge of the Vale of Belvoir, (see SK7629 : Harby Hill for a view up the hill). On the horizon are the hills that mark the north-western edge of the Vale, about 8 miles distant.
