SZ5098 : The Brambles Cricket Match
3 km from East Cowes, Isle of Wight, Great Britain

The Brambles Cricket Match
The Brambles Bank at the entrance to Southampton Water uncovers only a few times each year. At the end of August it is the location of the annual cricket match between the Island Sailing Club of Cowes and the Royal Southern Yacht Club of Hamble. As the bank is uncovered for barely one hour and to overcome the limited number of overs that can be played, each club takes it in turn to win and then host the post match meal. This year (2007) the Royal Southern were the victors.
