Grade II Listed Cobblestone Cottage is late 18th century but probably with earlier core and roof. Pilot Street was known as Dowshill Street until Lynn’s renaming of streets in 1809. The 1841 Census shows that there were 91 houses and 444 people. 1861 and 1871 censuses show the street was mostly occupied by fishermen or associated trades. Between 1976 and 1978 5 houses in Pilot street excluding 22 was restored by King’s Lynn Preservation Trust. The adjacent 18 (and 16) Pilot street has a date stone that reads 'A-S-HART 1876.'
