SH2675 : St Gwenfaen's Church, Rhoscolyn

taken 8 months ago, near to Rhoscolyn, Isle of Anglesey/Sir Ynys Mon, Great Britain

St Gwenfaen's Church, Rhoscolyn
St Gwenfaen's Church, Rhoscolyn
A modest looking building of the 1870's, replacing a medieval church which was destroyed in a fire. The site is much older and there appears to have been some form of church here as early as the 7th century. The OS map also shows the old name for Rhoscolyn, which is Llanwenfaen, named after this church.
