taken 19 years ago, near to Buttershaw, Bradford, England

Monument to the Low Moor Steel Works
Monument to the Low Moor Steel Works
"On the plaque next to it: "This 30.5 ton 16 inch Rolling Mill Flywheel from the former Low Moor Steel Works was donated to Bradford Council in 1982 by Mr Alan Elsworth of Messrs Elsworth and Son". The company was originally called Low Moor Iron Works and then Low Moor Alloy Steel Works. Although this flywheel is more like 16 feet in diameter the reference to 16 inch is the diameter of the rollers which were driven by this piece of heavy engineering.
