Ruins of the Bishop's Palace, Southwell
Ruins of the Bishop's Palace, Southwell
The ruined remains of the medieval Bishop's Palace stand next to Southwell Minster. The Palace was destroyed at the end of the Civil War after King Charles I is said to have visited it. The ruins now form part of the gardens attached to the current Bishop's Residence and are often used as the backdrop for wedding photos. Picture taken from the roof of Southwell Minster.
