Capital Ring
The Capital Ring is a surprisingly green route that encircles London. Distance is 125km (78miles); it threads together parks and open spaces, mostly following pleasant residential roads in between. The route is an initiative of the London Walking Forum. The route is very well signed, with a Big Ben logo (see TQ1678 : Three walk logos, Gallows Bridge. Brent Reservoir & Welsh Harp Open Area
The Brent Reservoir (popularly called the Welsh Harp) is a reservoir between Hendon and Wembley Park. It straddles the boundary between the boroughs of Brent and Barnet and is owned by the Canal & River Trust. It is a 68.6 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest, the only one in Barnet and Brent.
The reservoir is fed by the Silk Stream and the River Brent, and its outflow is the River Brent.
The reservoir has a sailing centre, home to Welsh Harp Sailing Club, Wembley Sailing Club, the Sea Cadets, and the University of London Sailing club.
on the north bank is Welsh Harp open Area a park and nature reserve of 9.43 hectares. It was established as a recreational area in 1965
