Canadian fleabane (Conyza canadensis)
This plant is common and widespread and can be found growing in the European part of the former USSR, the Caucasus, Eastern and Western Siberia, the Far East, Central Asia, Scandinavia, Atlantic and Middle Europe, the Mediterranean, Asia Minor, Mongolia, Iran, Japan, Australia and China. Its oil contains 47 volatile components, 91% of which are terpenoid. The plant also contains a variety of flavonoids and tannins. Canadian horseweed is also known for its medicinal uses as an astringent, antirheumatic, diuretic, balsamic, emmenagogue, styptic, vermifuge and tonic. The plant is also known as horseweed.
