Bamburgh Castle
A fort or castle has been on this site since the early Celtic Britons, the core of the current Castle is Norman and following a revolt in 1095 it was taken by the crown. By the 17th century the castle had deteriorated and was restored during the Victorian era by William Armstrong whose family still own it.
