SE2933 : Bronze lamp bearer

Bronze lamp bearer
Bronze lamp bearer
A nude bronze lamp bearer in City Square, Leeds. One of eight sculpted by Alfred Drury. When they were unveiled in 1899 there was a public outcry shocked by the nudity of the sculptures. This was photographed in 1980; a glance at Google Streetview suggests City Square has changed since this picture was taken.
