Falmouth, Fish Strand Quay
Falmouth, Fish Strand Quay
Fish Strand derives its name from the beach or ‘strand’, part of which is still visible today at low tide. A short pier was built in 1790, with an extension added in 1871. Fishermen landed their catches here from a wooden platform located outside The Watermans pub, with the fish being sold at the market.
