Croft House, High Street, Henfield
Croft House, High Street, Henfield
Built in the late 19th century initially as the home and business premises of a local solicitor. During the early part of the 20th century the upstairs became the local telephone exchange where it remained until moving to its current site in Coopers Way during the 1960s. By that point the downstairs had become a bank occupied by Barclays until moving across the road to TQ2116 : Barclays Bank, High Street, Henfield in 1967. Lloyds took over and remained here until closing the branch in 2016 leaving the downstairs currently empty. Upstairs meanwhile has once more become a solicitors office.
