SP1954 : Site of Stratford (Old Town) station
near to Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwickshire, Great Britain

Site of Stratford (Old Town) station
Stratford still has a railway station, but in former years it had a second, on the now almost forgotten Stratford and Midland Junction railway - which at one time provided the fastest route from London. This line lost its passenger services shortly after World War II and its remaining goods services went in 1960. The bridge by which it crossed the Avon is now a road bridge, see SP2053 : Stratford and Midland Junction Railway bridge over the River Avon, Stratford
year taken
1979
