Large, five-storey hotel built in elaborate eclectic Baroque style between 1898 and 1903 for the Midland Railway Company. Grade II* listed as a “very prominent building representative of the cosmopolitan wealth and taste of late nineteenth century Manchester, and an early example of a steel-framed building” (List entry Number: 1271154 LinkExternal link Historic England).
