Caution - Pirri-pirri bur
Information from Natural England about the alien and invasive plant [Acaena novae-zelandiae] from New Zealand, which has become established in various localities throughout the UK. It is easy to see why - I did not notice it at first - brown heads, with hooked seeds, occur amongst the grass and they are easily detached and collected by clothing. It took quite a while to remove then from my jumper after just a short time in the roadside dune.
