War Memorial, Eastleigh Park
Eastleigh’s war memorial was erected in 1929. It is a free-standing stone column surmounted by a bronze sculpture of the Angel of Mons LinkExternal link . Unfortunately, the original angel which stood on top of the column was stolen and never recovered. Subsequently a replica sculpture of the Angel of Mons (SU4519 : Angel of Mons, Eastleigh War Memorial) was commissioned by sculptor Jill Tweed and set in place.

The inscription on the plinth is:
1914-1918 1939-1945
To our/Glorious
Dead.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
we will remember them.
(SU4519 : War Memorial Plinth, Eastleigh)

The names of the fallen are recorded in All Saints Church and Eastleigh Museum.
